Our products are designed for using on both face and body. All are suitable for sensitive skin, with our Extra Gentle Balm suitable for babies from 1 month+.

Love Tallow skincare is different from modern water-based moisturisers. Because our balms are concentrated and water-free, they feel richer on application while absorbing deeply into the skin.

A little goes a long way.

One of the most common mistakes when using a balm for the first time is applying too much.

Start with a pea-sized amount or less and adjust as needed, you can always add more.

Core Principles

• Start with clean skin
• If you wash with water then apply to slightly damp skin
• Use a small amount
• Warm on fingertips before applying
• Use fingertips to massage product into your skin
• Can be used for facial massage and Gua sha 
• Allow the product to absorb before layering

How to Take the Product

Using clean dry hands, take a small amount from the jar.

Avoid getting any water in your balm.

Many customers find it easiest to gently scoop using the back of a fingernail before warming the balm between their fingertips.

Face Routine

Up & Glow, Morning

• Cleanse if needed
• Apply a small amount to face and neck
• Press gently into the skin
• Allow a few moments to settle before makeup application

Relax & Restore, Evening

• Cleanse skin
• Apply a slightly richer layer if desired
• Focus on dry, tight or exposed areas
• Massage into the face and neck using fingertips or gua sha

Extra Gentle, Anytime As Needed

• Apply liberally to affected areas of skin
• For particularly inflamed or sore areas, warm tallow a little longer between the fingers to make it softer
• Can be applied multiple times throughout the day as needed
• If using for peeling skin eczema, remove any dead skin for better absorption 

Skin Tint

• Apply to bare skin or after skincare
• Use fingertips and dab for the most natural finish
• Start with a small amount and build lightly if needed
• Designed to enhance your skin, not cover it
• Rose Gold works well on a larger face area 
• Pink Quartz works well on the apples of the cheeks to appear plumper 

The result is fresh, healthy-looking skin with a natural glow. 

Body Use

All Love Tallow products can also be used on the body.

Apply wherever skin feels dry, tight, sensitive or in need of extra nourishment.

Popular areas include:

• Dry patches anywhere on the body
• Anywhere with sun exposure

Understanding Texture & Seasonal Changes

Because tallow is a natural ingredient, it's texture changes with temperature.

During colder weather

Your balm may feel firmer in the jar.

This is completely normal.

You may find it easiest to use the back of a fingernail to extract a small amount before warming it between your fingertips. Body heat will quickly soften the balm for smooth application.

During warmer weather

Your balm may feel softer and creamier.

If it does partially melt then it will reset again which is totally fine and doesn't affect the product, although looses the whipped consistency.

Store away from direct sunlight in a cool, dry place.

Why Does Tallow Behave This Way?

Unlike many modern moisturisers, tallow contains no unnecessary fillers or synthetic stabilisers designed to force a uniform texture.

Instead, it naturally responds to temperature, just as traditional skincare ingredients have for generations.

The quality, nourishment and performance remain exactly the same.

Natural Variations Between Batches

Every Love Tallow product is handcrafted in small batches.

Our balms are made with natural ingredients and you may notice slight differences in colour, texture or aroma from one batch to another.

Over time the colour of Rosehip oil  in Up & Glow may naturally fade, which is completely normal and does not affect its quality or effectiveness.

These subtle variations are completely normal and are part of the beauty of truly natural skincare.

All our products have been lab tested for stability and have a minimum of 30 months shelf life before opening, and 6-12 months after opening.
